Orhan: Selam!
Orhan: Hey!
Ezgi: Selam kanka. Ne var, ne yok?
Ezgi: Hey buddy. What's up?
(Note: "Ne var, ne yok" literally means, "what is there, and what isn't there")
Orhan: Her zamanki gibi. Sende ne var ne yok?
Orhan: Same as always (Same old). What's up with you?
Ezgi: İyilik, sağlık. Çok şükür.
Ezgi: Goodness, health. Thank goodness.
Orhan: Aç mısın?
Orhan: Are you hungry?
Ezgi: Birazcık açım. Sen aç mısın?
Ezgi: I'm a tiny bit hungry. Are you hungry?
(Note: The "-cık" at then end of "biraz" is a diminutive suffix, that changed "biraz" which meant "a little bit" to "birazcık" which is more like "a teeny-weeny bit". This can also be done to names and titles, for instance, "anne" means "mother", and "anneciğim" is more like "mummy".)
Orhan: Evet, bayağı açım.
Orhan: Yes, I'm very hungry.
Ezgi: Haydi, ben çok güzel bir restoranı biliyorum. O restoran hem çok güzel hem de çok ucuz.
Ezgi: Come on, I know a very nice restaurant. That restaurant is both very nice and very cheap.
Orhan: Haydi o zaman!
Orhan: Alright then let's go!

Cevdet: O dostum! En iyi arkadaşım.
Cevdet: He is my buddy! My best friend.
(Note: "Dost" is a bit different from "kanka" in usage, i.e. it is used to express sincerity and isn't as informal as "kanka". It implies that person is a good supportive trusted friend or ally.)
Meral: Nasıl biri?
Meral: What kind of person is he?
Cevdet: Çok iyi biri. Çok çalışkan bir adam ama sıkıcı değil. Bir de çok zengin bir adam ama hiç kibirli değil, ama şu an biraz tedirgin.
Cevdet: He is a very good person. A very hardworking man but not boring. Also, he is a very rich man, but not arrogant at all but he is a bit stressed at the moment.
Meral: Neden?
Meral: Why?
Cevdet: OÄŸlu biraz hasta.
Cevdet: His son is a bit sick.
